Finally some nice hitting weather in Philly. It is going to be 73 degrees at game time with 6 mph winds blowing straight out. It is a great time for last years NL MVP to get hot.
Bryce Harper gets a terrific righty matchup today with Houser on the mound. Last season, Bryce destroyed right handed pitching with a .333 average and 65 extra base hits in 336 at bats. Houser also struggled to get left handed batters out last season as he allowed a .273 average to southpaws, a large increase of the .192 he allowed vs righties.
Harper was strong in both day and night games last season, but his a game splits featured a .303 average with 27 extra base hits in 155 at bats.
Finally, Harper was terrific at Citizens Bank Park. He batted .329 at home with 41 extra base hits in 237 at bats.
Iβm loving the former MVP to have him self a great game this afternoon.
