Vlad has hit this in 2/2 to start the season. He was simply incredible last season and should only continue to improve at 23 years old. Last season he batted .311. He got most of his damage done vs righties where he batted .317. He was also better at home with a .328 average. Oh yea, he also batted .308 in day games. Thereβs no flaws in his offensive game and he draws a terrific matchup today.
Poor Spencer Howard. Once a big prospect in the Phillies system, has struggled mightily since arriving to the pros. So far in his career he has an ERA of 6.93 and a 1.78 WHIP. He was annihilated in his 7 day game appearances last season with an 8.04 ERA in 15 and 2/3rd innings. This should be a great spot for this Toronto offense to tee off on the struggling youngster.
