Atomic's NBA Sunday Best Bet: Hornets @ Nets - 3/5

Atomic loves this spot for Spencer Dinwiddie as the Nets host the Hornets tonight!

Spencer Dinwiddie is over this line in just 4 out of 8 games when playing 25+ minutes as a Brooklyn Net but he is their primary ball handler and facing an awful Hornets defense this line is just too low I am expecting Mikal Bridges to get the tougher assignment possibly PJ Washington or JT Thor there’s a chance Kelly Oubre or Terry Rozier guard Spencer Dinwiddie which would just be an amazing matchup that he should feast in he’s attempted 21,10,21,16,10,14 Field Goals had 2 awful games with 4 against Miami & 6 against Chicago but those are top 10 defensive units while Charlotte is far from that. The Charlotte Hornets have the 8th worst defensive rating in the entire NBA.

The Hornets are also playing at the #4 fastest pace in the NBA & since Brooklyn has been awful in the half - court I think they will want to get out in transition and match the Hornets speed so we could get even more possessions for Dinwiddie who is getting a pretty low line for the primary ball handler & being a score - first player against a poor defensive team like the Hornets we have seen him attempting so many field goals even 17 against a good defense like the Bucks & with Brooklyn making that comeback with Cam Thomas on the bench he could be out of the rotation & he dominates the usage the minutes he does play so that could help out Dinwiddie. Charlotte is allowing the #8 most points in the paint and the #4 the last 3 games - Dinwiddie drives 13.6 times per game which would be #1 on the Nets he likes to get into the paint & the hornets have been vulnerable all season even with Mark Williams in. The Hornets are giving up the #4 most points per game , the #6 highest field goal%, & the #9 most 3 free throws attempts they have just struggled to defend all season long & this is a good buy low spot for Dinwiddie after facing a tough Knicks & Celtics defense.
