It is getting late in the season, so taking the standings into account when looking at props will be huge from here on out. I really love to target the stars on teams clawing for a playoff spot. Last season the Hawks made it to the Eastern Conference Finals and this season they are sitting at the 10 seed in the East. They have battled injuries much of the year and have finally gotten healthy, so I am looking for them to make their push to try to avoid the play-in, and I love Trae Young to lead the way.
The Clippers have motivations of their own as they sit 8th in the Western Conference. They are a solid defensive unit, but have allowed some damage from opposing Point Guards over the last 2 weeks allowing the 4th most points to the position. Of course, that spot is manned by Trae. I really like this 26.5 number for Trae, and will be scooping it up. He averages 27.8 on the season, and that number elevates to 29.2 at home. He has hit this number in 7 of his last 10 in Atlanta averaging 31.8 points over that span. I am a sucker for volume and usage, and few players can match Young’s. He plays 34.6 min a game with a 34.8% usage rate, which leads to 20.3 field goal attempts, 7.9 three point attempts, and 7.5 free throws. Tonight’s game has a total set at 227.5 and a -6 spread, so with both teams fighting for playoff position this should be an entertaining game and Trae should look to show out yet again on his home floor.Â
