CLAIM NOW1) SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (11-3) ↔
Christian McCaffrey (MVP?) added three more touchdowns to his tally in another dominant divisional display. Baltimore up next in what looks like the only game that could prevent them from taking the NFC’s #1 seed.
2) BALTIMORE RAVENS (11-3) ⬆1️⃣
Up they come, at last! Ravens clinched their place in the NFL Playoffs, becoming the first and only AFC team to do so. The win against the Jaguars showed they can deal with a potential AFC contender. They have every chance of winning it all.
3) MIAMI DOLPHINS (10-4) ⬆1️⃣
How would Miami bounce back from that bizarre loss versus Tennessee? Emphatically, of course. A thirty-point win, a shut-out, without star WR Tyreek Hill. This team is fun, but deserves to be taken seriously.
4) DALLAS COWBOYS (10-4) ⬇2️⃣
A rough loss in Buffalo has us debating whether they can go all the way but hey, it was only one game – to a team very much on the up. The Cowboys have a tough stretch but the NFC East remains in their hands. For now.
5) BUFFALO BILLS (8-6) ⬆2️⃣
Still on the outside looking in. But the Bills are arguably playing the best football in the AFC right now. Super Bowl contenders Dallas were swept aside and if Buffalo keep this up, they could do the same in the Playoffs. Still gotta make it, though.
6) KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (9-5) ↔
Back in the W column, winning a scrappy one against the Patriots. A 300-yard showing from Mahomes restored a little enthusiasm as the Chiefs moved one step closer to retaining the West.
7) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (10-4) ⬇2️⃣
Three losses in a row and it’s not looking good for Philly. There are some excuses for this tough defeat in Seattle. There’ll be none if they can’t see off the Giants (twice) and the Cardinals. Win out and the NFC East could still be theirs.
8) DETROIT LIONS (10-4) ⬆1️⃣
Back up a place with a convincing win over the Broncos. Lions showed the offensive prowess that makes them a match for anybody – they clinch the division with a win in Minnesota this week.
9) CLEVELAND BROWNS (9-5) ⬆1️⃣
Joe Flacco led a wild comeback win against the Bears with Tight End David Njoku giving him plenty of star support. One step closer to a Playoffs spot. Then who knows.
10) CINCINNATI BENGALS (8-6) ⬆2️⃣
Jake Browning and the Bengals are going good guns. They rode their luck against the Vikings, but they’re putting up big yards, big points and big wins. That’s three in a row.
11) LOS ANGELES RAMS (7-7) ⬆7️⃣
Last week’s loss to Baltimore is their only defeat in five, with Matt Stafford and Cooper Kupp rediscovering their best form at the right time. Rams move into a Wildcard spot.
12) HOUSTON TEXANS (8-6) ⬆5️⃣
That win over Tennessee felt BIG. Case Keenum coming up clutch to keep a depleted Houston very much in the runnings. This is the first time they’ve been the highest-ranked AFC South team. Because…
13) JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (8-6) ⬇6️⃣
Three losses in a row against the AFC North. Jags gonna Jags. Jacksonville still holds the top spot in the South, but a comfy lead has evaporated fast. They’ve gotta bounce back against the in-form Bucs.
14) INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (8-6) ⬆2️⃣
Back to winning ways against the flailing Steelers. Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson made all the running, highlighting Indy’s strength in depth. The race for the AFC South is on.
15) DENVER BRONCOS (7-7) ⬇5️⃣
No match for the Lions but no shame in that. Denver are only a game back and have shown glimpses of what they’re capable of in an up-and-down season. There could be more ups to come.
16) TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (7-7) ⬆4️⃣
Hello, hello. An NFC South team has risen out of the pack and we believe for the first time. It’s taken a while but a perfect game from Baker, a rising star in Rachaad White, and the Bucs look primed to take the division.
17) MINNESOTA VIKINGS (7-7) ⬇3️⃣
A series of mistakes against Cincinnati that the Vikings could live to regret. They still hold a spot, but they’ve got work to do with three divisional matchups to finish – including two against the Lions.
18) SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (7-7) ⬆1️⃣
Drew Lock leading a comeback win against the Eagles in Geno Smith’s absence. Pete Carroll now 8-0 against Philly. The Seahawks remain on the bubble but the 12’s can keep believing.
19) GREEN BAY PACKERS (6-8) ⬇6️⃣
Maybe we went too big, too soon. Inexperience and injuries have shown Green Bay up at the crucial time. But they can end their two-game skid against Carolina next time out.
20) NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (7-7) ⬆2️⃣
Not the toughest of opponents, but back-to-back wins conceding just six points in each will give Saints hope of usurping the Bucs and taking back the NFC South.
21) PITTSBURGH STEELERS (7-7) ⬇6️⃣
Things have unraveled quickly in Pittsburgh. Three bad losses in a row and it’s honestly hard to see where the next win comes from. Mason Rudolph in to face the Bengals. Well, it’s Christmas.
22) ATLANTA FALCONS (6-8) ⬇1️⃣
Oh dear. The Falcons had the division in their grasp. On a rainy day in Carolina, a 9-6 reverse further dampened their hopes.
23) LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (6-8) ⬆2️⃣
Zero points against Minnesota. How do you respond? SIXTY-THREE against the Chargers. One of the most impressive offensive displays we’ve seen this season. Nice going.
24) CHICAGO BEARS (5-8) ↔
The Bears just find magical ways to lose games of football. A Hail Mary batted away, caught, dropped and intercepted all in one motion – after throwing away a double-digit lead. Ouch.
25) NEW YORK GIANTS (6-7) ⬆2️⃣
What can you say about the Giants? They’re not eliminated, they’re not the Chargers, so they’re here.
26) LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (5-8) ↔
Wow. A simply jaw-dropping loss in Vegas that saw the Head Coach and General Manager leave the building. A season to forget.
27) TENNESSEE TITANS ⬇4️⃣
An Overtime loss to Houston ended the Titans’ season, potentially ending star Running Back Derrick Henry’s time in Nashville too.
28) NEW YORK JETS (5-8) ↔
There were signs of life last week. But now it’s lights out on the Jets this season following their shutout in Miami. It will be interesting to see how Gang Green get on next year with Aaron Rodgers fit, healthy and under center.
29) ARIZONA CARDINALS (3-10) ↔
A good battle against the 49ers, but the loss officially eliminated the Cardinals from contention. All eyes on next year.
30) WASHINGTON COMMANDERS (4-9) ↔
It was nice to see Terry McLaurin turn in a big game after a disappointing season. But it wasn’t enough as the Commanders lost, and were eliminated from Playoffs contention.
31) NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (3-10) ↔
Reports that Bill Belichick and the Patriots will go their separate ways at the end of the season. It’s hard to imagine, but maybe now’s the time for a new era in New England.
32) CAROLINA PANTHERS (1-12) ↔
A win for Carolina! It doesn’t mean much, except for confusing us more in this erm… interesting NFC South.
