Patrice Bergeron (BOS) Shots on Goal vs. CBJ

I value consistency, which keeps leading me back to #37 on the Boston Bruins. In his last 10 games, he’s averaging 4.8 shots on goal (SOG), covering this 3.5 line in 8 of the 10 (80%).

Normally I prefer to target Bergeron in his home games where this has a 64% hit rate vs. just 44% on the road. Tonight, he’s on the road but gets a juicy matchup vs. Columbus who are allowing 32.9 SOG per game in their last 10 home (8th most).

This is the 2nd game of a home and home between Boston and Columbus, meaning they just faced off last game, and Bergeron had 4 SOG. That game was played in Boston. When these teams met in Ohio last month, Bergeron had 6 SOG, effectively bucking the trend on his home/road split. Including that game, he’s finished with no less than 6 SOG (+2.5 vs. line) in 3 straight road games, leaving me eager to back him at the reasonable price of -120 tonight.

Charlie McAvoy Assists vs. CBJ

If you follow me on Twitter, chances are you cashed this with me the other day.

This Boston Bruins defenseman is coming off a 2 assist game vs. this same Columbus team and now has 3 multi-assist games in his last 4. In his last 13 games, this has a 69% hit rate, and it is now 2-0 in his games vs. Columbus.

I see the Blue Jackets as an ideal target for Defenseman assist props, because they allow so many shots to that position. Defensemen shots come from farther away and tend to generate rebounds that can be converted into goals, allowing defensemen to rack up assists.

McAvoy also has a key role on Boston’s Power Play, which bodes well for his assist prop. His ability to zip tape-to-tape passes around the ice makes the job easy for his teammates, who are very formidable finishers.

Player Points Parlay (+112)

Leg 1: Brad Marchand o0.5 Points (-230) vs. CBJ
This cashed in 8 of his last 9 games and has a 74% hit rate in his road games this year. In two matchups vs. CBJ this season, he’s averaging 2.5 points (+2 vs. line), including a 3-point performance this past Saturday.

Leg 2: Steven Stamkos o0.5 Points (-225) vs. TOR
This has a 73% hit rate on the season, which rises to 75% in his home games. Since getting bumped up to Tampa’s 1st line, this cashed in 5 straight games.

Stamkos is an Ontario native and grew up outside Toronto. In his last matchup vs. his home town team, he had 4 points. He’s now recorded at least 1 point in 4 of their past 5 meetings, and I like his chances of doing it again tonight!
