The New York Islanders visit the Montreal Canadiens on the heels of a 6-3 defeat last night in Pittsburgh, which was the second half of a home and home against the Penguins. In the meantime, the Candiens find themselves in a bit of a tailspin having lost three in a row, and four of their last five.
In researching this game, one player prop in particular jumped out at me belonging to Montreal's leading scorer this season - Nick Suzuki. As Montreal's most consistent offensive weapon, Suzuki has put together a respectable season tallying 19 goals and 37 assists for a team leading 56 points.
As the Habs top playmaker, I love the value in tonight's assist prop. Aside from being the team leader in assists, Suzuki enters tonight's contest with helpers in each of his last four games - and 5 assists in 6 games this April. In addition, Suzuki has also notched apples in each head-to-head matchup with the Islanders this year.
Diving even deeper into the numbers, Suzuki has certainly enjoyed night games as opposed to matinees this season, as 35 of his 37 assists have come at night. Plus, games on 1 day rest have also treated him right, as he has compiled 28 of his assists in these games.
As a player that plays all facets of the game - including the power play and short handed situations - it's hard to pass up this assist prop at plus money.
