Two heavy hitters on the home run slate today and each have a really good chance. Rafael Devers is campaigning for AL MVP this year with a .333 average and 17 home runs. Tonight he’ll face Ross Stripling who is no slouch but the 32 year old isn’t likely to go past the 6th inning, if he even gets that far. Following that, the Blue Jays have one of the worst bullpens in the league. If Devers can’t get one early, he’ll have a great chance to get one late.
Speaking of AL MVP, Yordan Alvarez is right in the mix as well, with 22 home runs himself. He’ll have the platoon advantage over Carlos Carrasco who has been very hittable this year. In a primetime matchup Alvarez is too tempting to pass up, especially with how coincidentally the balls seem to have a lot more pop when the game is nationally broadcast.
