SUBSCRIBE TODAYKodai Senga has been really impressive in his first 2 starts with the Mets striking out 6 and 8 against the Miami Marlins. He only allowed 1 earned run in each start andĀ the Mets won each game 5-1 and 5-2 respectively. Now, the Mets will go against an Oakland A's squad who have been striking out a lot. In their last 3 games they've caught a little bit of fire putting up some runs, but it hasn't been against a pitcher of Senga's caliber. They've struggled against "better" pitching and have struck out 10, 9, 9, and 9 times when facing a RHP starter. With Senga settling into the MLB 5 shouldn't be a problem for him at all.
On the other side, KaprielenĀ has had a rough start to the season to say the least. He's allowed 12 runs in just 9.2 innings in his first two starts and will be facing a Mets squad who got some runs rolling against a very good Blake Snell. With the Athletics' numbers being a little inflated due to a few bad starters and a quick turn around to face the Mets at home, give me Senga and the Metropolitans to get the job done today.
