Capper Penguin's Wednesday MLB Play of the Day: Athletics @ Tigers - 7/5

Capper Penguin is back on the single play grind!

We are back to single plays! So to start off I think Eduardo Rodriguez will be dominant, but I’m not sure how deep he’ll go into this game since it’s his first game back from injury. He gave up 0 runs in 4.1 innings in his first minor league start and is going against the worst team in baseball. He should hold them down for a good chunk, if not all, of 5 innings. Then on the other side of things Ken Waldichuk should do decent himself. He’s been averaging about 2 - 3 innings per game and after getting rocked earlier in the year he’s allowed 0 runs in his last 4 of 5 starts. The Tigers may get a few, but I don’t think they’ll blow him up for 5+. 

Ultimately this should be a low scoring 1st half especially after 0 runs were scored by BOTH teams yesterday. It’s nice to know that we have a little cushion if the tigers do pop off early.
