The Pacers may be in the process of a mini-rebuild but they’ve shown some resolve recently. Haliburton has fit in well in the new setting, Brogdon is playing good ball when healthy and Buddy Hield is solid. The guards match up surprisingly well with Boston’s elite guard combo.
That’s not to say they’ll win this game but at a 10 point spread they just have to keep it competitive which I think they are very capable of doing at home.
The Clippers are more capable than I’ve given them credit for. The crosstown rivalry brings out some extra emotion but they were impressive in the win over the Lakers. Houston is an easier team to read. I don’t mean to hate but they seem to have no direction. The Clippers are fighting for playoff position and have a lot more on the line.
Houston’s path to playing competitive basketball is a cohesive team effort which is difficult against a Clippers team that’s very well balanced themselves. We saw it in the last matchup where the Clippers put up 142 points and we’ll see something similar tonight in Houston.
