Sticking with this game we're going to look at Power Play Points which is a fun +money prop on the ice. The flyers are shorthanded over 10 mins per game and The Leafs currently have the 9th best PP in the NHL, scoring just north of 24% of their chances. Not a good matchup for the Flyers. You can only go so far in terms of killing Power Plays when you are allowing over 35 shots on goal per game and probably starting your backup goalie. They killed all three Penalties last night against the Rangers so the odds are the Leafs get one tonight just on that alone.
Now that we are all in agreement that the Leafs WILL score on the PP tonight, it's just a matter of who is involved.
Since these are +money we can split a unit on two guys and still come out on top.
First, Im going to look at John Tavares of the Maple Leafs tonight at +120. He has had a PPP in 6/L10 and has actually been shooting the puck a lot more as of late. Pucks on net, pucks on net. He quarterbacks the 1st unit and sees an average of 4 mins of PP time per game. With PHI taking roughly 6 penalties per game there is a chance it is even higher tonight.
The second player i'm looking at for a Point on the man advantage is Defenseman Morgan Reilly of the Maple Leafs at +200. He is on the first unit with Tavares (you cant parlay these, but they can both hit on the same event) so he sees a lot of minutes on the Power Play. Look for a shot from reilly to either go in, or get a tip in front.
